Festus Olabiyi

Festus Idowu Olabiyi is an academic and a seasoned insurance professional with over forty years experience in diversified areas including abstract/actuarial mathematics, insurance, pension/retirement benefits, business transformation and risk management.

Festus began his insurance career with Crusader Insurance (Nig.) Plc in 1993 and worked in all strategic technical and actuarial services departments of the organization before joining AIICO Insurance Plc in 2006 as Deputy General Manager, Life Operations rising to become General Manager/COO, Life Business/Retail Marketing. He joined Capital Express Assurance Limited as Executive Director, Operations in 2015.

Prior to his insurance career, he worked in academia as a Lecturer in Mathematics at The University of Lagos and later at Olabisi Onabanjo (formerly Ogun State) University.

Festus holds B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Mathematics from the University of Lagos. He is a European Union Fellowship Scholar, a Professional Postgraduate Degree holder in Actuarial Science from Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh U.K. He has also attended several courses both locally and abroad including Senior Management programme of the Pan African University, lagos.

He is a Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria and the Association of Investment Advisers and Portfolio Managers of Nigeria.
